Lessons
Where is your studio located: We only provide in-home lessons and do not have a physical location. For Recitals and other events we rent a venue for that purpose.
Do you offer lessons for instruments besides guitar, piano, and voice? No. But we can usually make a recommendation for a teacher of another instrument.
I don't have an instrument. What do I do?We are more than happy to help purchase an instrument. We can give you buying tips and make specific recommendations and even make the purchase for you! Please email us if you need purchasing help.
Can I use a keyboard instead of a piano for lessons? We highly encourage our students to learn on a real piano. But if you are not ready to make the investment in a piano, we do accept using keyboards that are full sized and have weighted keys to simulate the feel of a real piano. Keyboards or synthesizers without these features are not appropriate for piano lessons and we will ask you to upgrade.
What kind of guitar do I need?Please see our article on purchasing a guitar. Or you may contact us for assistance.
Do you rent instruments: We have a small number of beginning guitars for rent. Please ask about renting when you register.
Registering
How does registration work: Once you've decided to take lessons with us, just fill in the registration form online followed by the payment form. You will then hear from us shortly to inform you of your instructor assignment.
How do I register more than one student: Please enter any sibling information in the notes box.
Scheduling
Do lessons have to happen every week. Normal lessons must happen at the same time every week. We do offer FLEX lessons for older teens and adults that can meet on an irregular basis. Please inquire about the availability of FLEX lessons spots - they are limited.
How long are the lessons? The typical lessons is 30 minutes. But we offer 45 min, 60 min and longer lesson times for those who need or request extra time. A 15% discount applies to lessons over 30 mins.
Billing
How does billing work?Each family is invoiced by email once per month for the month in advance. When you register, you must enroll a bank account OR credit card of your choice to be debited on the due date of your monthly invoice.
What if don't want to leave my account info on file with you? I'd rather send a check.We accept checks ONLY if the entire semester is paid in full and in advance. Otherwise you must enroll an account.
How is my bank account or credit card info treated?We take the handling of your personal info very seriously. Your account info is stored securely and make accessible only to the person responsible for billing. Your monthly charges are also hand entered to ensure accuracy. It is not a computerized autodraft. And when your time with us comes to a close, your account info is completely deleted.
Recitals
Do you offer recitals? Yes! We require all students to participate in our two recitals: Spring - held at the end of April, and Christmas - held at the beginning of December. If a conflict prohibits you from participating, we understand, but the recital fee will still apply.
